WEEKLY SCHEDULE October 25-31, 2026

Sunday, 9:00 AM. SALT & LIGHT: Last Sunday, we examined how God occasionally shows His faithfulness by sending leaders with special skill sets to bring the flock back on path. We talked about violence presented in the Jewish Bible. This Sunday’s topic, Session 8, is God Works Are Not Forgotten (Judges 17:1-6; 18:18-19, 27). Please read at least the entire chapter from your own Bible in preparation for our study. The week’s Spiritual Preparation is to consider Israel’s Judges, Yeats’ poem The Second Coming, and what is going on in our world today. See p. 44-45.

Sunday, 10:15 AM. WORSHIP: Pastor Amy Yoder McGloughlin, advocate for Palestinians and Congregational Minister of Allegheny Mennonite Conference, will be our guest speaker. We continued to be blessed by the resources that Carmen and Riverside Anabaptist Collective work to provide. These resources greatly enhance the ministry to which we have been called.

Monday, 8:00 AM. KAFFEEKLATSCH: Bring your own coffee!

Wednesday, 7:00 PM. BIBLE STUDY: Last week, we enjoyed worship and our second congregational meeting. As a result, we are petitioning to join Allegheny Mennonite Conference. Last night, Cathy began our study of Paul’s letter to the church at Philippi. Thanks and praise to our Lord!

==================================

Dear Sistren and Brethren, This week’s notes are of a somewhat practical nature.

SAVE SATURDAY, NOV 7, 8-10 AM, FOR AMC

Allegheny Mennonite Conference (AMC) is holding their Fall Assembly on the morning of Saturday, November 7. Carmen and Peter will be presenting AF’s request for association with the conference, as we voted last week. Unless we learn otherwise, look for a login link on Saturday morning.

ADVENT

Advent, when we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Lord, begins in about five weeks. It runs from November 29 through December 24. Be thinking of how you want to spend that time. It is OK to show love to each other with gifts and parties, but don’t lose sight of what is truly important. Be thinking about how we of Accessible Fellowship might prepare and celebrate!

SAFE INTERNET

The latest update to Windows has important security features and must be installed. Be aware, though, that the update may disable some older applications that Windows considers non-compliant with current internet safety standards.

BEST PODCAST

The most interesting podcast I have listened to in the last few weeks was, at 12 minutes, also the shortest: The Cornell Seven and the High Cost of Fake Fraternity – “From the Moore to the Point newsletter: We ought to look around at places without keg parties or ketamine hits and ask where our own sense of solidarity is real and where it’s just another prelude to a cover-up. The Russell Moore Show, Episode 310.” Click, scroll down, listen

MEDICARE OPEN ENROLLMENT

Medicare open enrollment began on October 15 and ends on December 7. The next six week period is your chance to investigate changes that your current Medicare plan may be implementing and compare its 2027 plan to other available plans. The best place to start your research is www.medicare.gov.

Accessible Fellowship is benefiting greatly from the resources provided by Riverside Anabaptist Collective. You can view information on Riverside Anabaptist Collective content at www.riversideanabaptist.com and view select content on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/@RiversideAnabaptistCollective

We encourage Christians to worship in community. For most, this means an in-person gathering. For some, however, an in-person gathering is not possible. If you cannot physically attend community worship and a streamed service seems cold and distant, Accessible Fellowship offers an alternative. Yes, we do stream some components of our gatherings, but we also spend plenty of time in personal “Zooming” fellowship. Regardless of the reason you can’t attend church, whether a one-time blizzard or a long term situation, we would love to have you join us.
